A photoelectric sensor, or photo eye, is an equipment used to discover the distance, absence, or presence of an object by using a light transmitter, often infrared, and a photoelectric receiver.
Types of Photoelectric sensors
- Diffuse sensor
- Diffuse sensor with background suppression
- Retroreflective sensor
- Through beam sensor
- Fork and angle sensors
- Contrast and color mark sensors
- Laser sensors
Key Features
Applications
- Reliable detection of transparent objects
- Numerous laser sensors with up to 0.1 mm fine laser beams
- Miniature sensors with long ranges up to 8 m
- Reliable function in harsh environments
- Large selection of sensors in hygiene or washdown design
- The first light barrier without a reflector and thus reduced service costs
- Simple and reliable qTeach teach-in procedure
- Easy to install, standardized designs
- Presence check in the process in any object position
- Extremely fast and accurate position detection even of the smallest objects
- For use in robotics and with electronics components
- Automatically configured object detection, e.g. in the case of format adjustment
- Reliable object detection even over a large distance
- Reliable object counting even with slightest gaps
- Detection of different object materials, colors and contrasts
- Detection of even transparent objects and uneven, pitted or rough surface
